Safdar Nawaz Khan Marwat

For me, the University of Bremen is …

an important phase of my educational life, as I got my M.Sc. degree in 2011 and defended my Ph.D. Thesis in 2014 here.

My professional background:

I was appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Systems Engineering (DCSE), University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar in May 2016. My research focuses on future mobile and wireless networks especially protocols, architectures, air interface schemes, optimization, IoT, cybersecurity and machine learning.

My best anecdote:

To reach a seminar in time, I left my apartment in a rush in 2008. Although I could have taken tram 4 from Huckelriede with my semester ticket, but I took a Taxi and paid around 20 EUR. I think punctuality is something one needs to learn in Germany.

What influenced me the most:

Communication Networks Research group was where I got my education. While International Graduate School (IGS) for Dynamics in Logistics played a very important role in polishing my raw skills.
